Shrines of Mecca | Cave of Hira
Shrines of Mecca | Cave of Hira

Within him, the master of humanity was alone with himself, rejecting the Quraysh practices of worshiping idols and stones. Mount Hira, in which the cave is located, was revealed to him (may God bless him and grant him peace), when the first verse in the Holy Qur’an was revealed: “Recite in the name of your Lord who created.” Mount and Cave of Hira are among the most famous landmarks of the Holy Capital. Pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims are keen to visit them. It is located to the northeast of the Grand Mosque. Before the mission, the Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace) used to retreat inside it. It is located at an altitude of about 634 meters, and is four meters away from the Grand Mosque.

Shrines of Mecca | Arafat Mountain
Shrines of Mecca | Arafat Mountain

Arafat was named by this name. Because people know him, and it was said: He was named that; Because Gabriel walked around Abraham - peace be upon him - and he used to show him the scenes and say to him: Did you know? Did you know? Ibrahim says: I knew, I knew. It was said: Because when Adam - peace be upon him - descended from Paradise and parted from Eve, he met her in that place. He knew her and she knew him. It was also known as Arafat, as God Almighty said: “So when you depart from Arafat, remember God at the Sacred Landmark.” Al-Amri said: Arafat is a sign of the situation that is called in the plural, and he said after citing some of the statements contained in the reason for calling it Arafat, and Arafat: It is one of the improvised names; Because Arafa is not known in the names of genera.

Shrines of Mecca | Muzdalifah
Shrines of Mecca | Muzdalifah

The Muzdalifah area is the focus of attention for many people during the Hajj season. Muzdalifah is one of the places that pilgrims must pass through and spend the night. Muzdalifah is considered a holy shrine, and God Almighty mentioned it in His Book as Al-Mash’ar Al-Haram. God Almighty said in Surah Al-Baqarah (So when you disperse from Arafat, remember God is at the Sacred Mash'ar, and remember Him as He has guided you, even if you were before him among those who went astray.) Therefore, Muzdalifah is one of the holy sites during the Hajj season, so Al-Mash’ar Al-Haram means the Sacred Place.
The Muzdalifah area is located in Mecca, as it is close to Mount Arafat and Mina, and these are three places where pilgrims must spend the night. Therefore, Muzdalifah is considered the destination of the pilgrims after their departure from Mount Arafat on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah. Here, the pilgrims depart for Muzdalifah so that they can stay there and combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers in a shortened manner, and they collect pebbles there, and at dawn on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah the pilgrims depart for In Mina, on this morning of Eid al-Adha, they are throwing stones at stones, and we see that the pilgrims went to Muzdalifah in the dark, that is, they approached it, and they approached it at the closing of the night, that is, at the beginning of the night.

Shrines of Mecca | Mina
Shrines of Mecca | Mina

It is a valley surrounded by mountains, located east of Mecca, on the road between Mecca and Mount Arafat. It is approximately 6 km away from the Grand Mosque. Mina is known as the place for performing the Hajj rituals and for pilgrims to stay overnight on the Day of Tarwiyah, the Day of Eid al-Adha, and the Days of Tashreeq, as it is the site of stoning the Jamarat, which takes place between sunrise and sunset on those days of Hajj, and the sacrificial animal is slaughtered there. Mina annually hosts more than two million pilgrims, in addition to other workers and various service providers, starting from the day of Tarwiyah on the 8th of Dhu al-Hijjah until the end of the days of Tashreeq on the 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah, excluding the day of Arafat on the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah, for a total of five days for the latecomer or Four days for those in a hurry. The length of the exploited Al-Mash'ar area is about 3.2 km, and the legal area of Mina is estimated at about 7.82 km2, and the actually exploited area is only 4.8 km2, which is equivalent to 61% of the legal area and 39% are rugged mountains whose peaks rise about 500 meters above the level of the valley's surface.

Shrines of Madinah | Mount Uhud
Shrines of Madinah | Mount Uhud

Mount Uhud (with the hamza and ha’ included) is a mountain overlooking Medina from the north. It is famous for the Battle of Uhud taking place under its foot between the Muslims led by the Prophet Muhammad and their Quraish enemies from Mecca in the year 3 AH (625 AD). It is a red granite mountain located to the north of the city, 4 km from the Holy Mosque. It extends from the southeast to the northwest and is 7 km long and approximately three km wide. It is the largest and highest mountain in the city, and at its foot lies the “Martyrs’ Cemetery” in which the dead Muslims were buried on the day of Uhud. One of the greatest people buried in that cemetery is the Master of Martyrs, Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib, who is the lion of God and the lion of His Messenger, and he is one of the uncles of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his breast-brother. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, wished that he had been with the martyrs in that cemetery at the foot of Mount Uhud. It is worth noting that the one who looks at Mount Uhud from the top will see that it forms the name of Muhammad. Among what is mentioned about this great mountain is that the Messenger climbed Mount Uhud with Abu Bakr, Omar, and Uthman, and he was shaken by them, so the Prophet said: “Stand firm, Uhud, for upon you is only a prophet and a friend, and two martyrs.” On the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, he said: The Messenger of God said: (Indeed, Uhud is a mountain that loves us and we love it.)
